Breeder’s Eye on Tategoi Tosai
Harvest season marks the end of another koi season for most hobbyists. But for the breeder, this season comes to close at the same exact time the next season begins.
As koi are harvested from the mud ponds the breeder is examining each koi to see the progress made in the few short months in the mud ponds. During this evaluation the breeder is already deciding which fish should receive higher investment in terms of winter growing facilities. These koi are kept in low stocked, heated, highly maintained greenhouses to obtain maximum potential during their time in the indoor concrete ponds. These special koi are called TATEGOI.
This winter we are offering for sale our tategoi toasi from this years production in the 6-8 inch size range as of November 2011. All the koi will be starting at $375. The koi that are not sold will be reevaluated the end of January, remeasured, rephotographed and repriced. We will repreat this process again in April.
Any of the koi purchased from this special selected group, can remain here at the farm in our growout greenhouse until May 2012 at no additional cost.
Insurance is available on the koi purchased, covering: Death, Deformity and Sex.
