May 555 Event

Celebrating Another Fantastic Breeding Year

2008 555 Event

After a very successful 2007 breeding season, we are delighted to present this year’s 555 Tategoi Tosai.  This year all of the koi offered are from our number one go-sanke parents.  The Showa and Utsuri are from our “Big Mama,” the Sanke are all from the Magoi bloodline “Rental Sanke,” and the Kohaku are all offspring of our company mascot, “Yuri.”

The quality of koi offered in this year’s 555 event are the best ever in terms of beni and sumi quality and truly represent some of the best tategoi that we made last year.  The higher priced koi that we have offered this year are the absolute pinnacle of combined qualities amongst all the offspring from these great females. Be ready at 8.00am on Monday May 5th to purchase your favorite high class Tategoi.

 How to Play/Terms

This will be an internet only sales event that will take place thru our Auction Site. The event will run as an auction, but no bids should be made. To purchase the koi, use the “Buy it Now” feature. In order to do this, you MUST be a registered auction user. You must also confirm your account through the email that gets sent to your email account immediately after registering as an auction user. You will need to contact our office within 24 hours of purchase with your credit card information.   If you do not contact the office within 24 hours of purchase, the koi will be entered back into the 555 Event. All sales are final. You are allowed to buy as many koi as you wish.  If any koi are unsold they will be kept in the same event mud pond and offered for sale in fall - most likely at a higher price.

Rewards, Risks and Satisfaction

It should be stated that the label Tategoi does not guarantee that all the koi will be successful in the future.  A koi can stop being a Tategoi at any point in time.  Consider them just as risky as stocks and shares.  As a breeder, we gamble each year by investing in the intense growth of this type of koi.  As koi grow, both good points and bad points become more obvious.  Keeping koi in mud ponds can be an emotive issue for hobbyists.  In Japan, when Western customers have kept koi in mud ponds and a negative outcome has occurred, compensation is rarely offered.  To allow for this we offer a no questions asked insurance policy.    A $100 additional premium gives you a full satisfaction guarantee.  If your koi dies, fades, shows deformity, is a male or you just don’t like it,

Quality Koi Company, Inc. will either:

  • Refund the initial price of the koi paid by our client excluding insurance premiums, or
  • Offer store credit for the total loss including all fees.

If you choose not to pay the premium then you assume all the risks that we do each year with no come backs.

Final Note

To make the event as fun and unbiased as possible, no assistance will be given to any customer as to which koi to buy, this is your chance to play breeder.   No sales will be made before 8am on Monday, May 5th. Sales will end at midnight on Sunday, May 11.
